Write To Be

Programs

Our flagship programs offer a comprehensive framework for self-discovery and empowerment, equipping girls and women with the life skills, financial support, and community engagement to help them achieve their dreams. By fostering a nurturing ecosystem of local partners and teachers, we prepare them to take control of their future, become leaders, and actively participate in their communities.

Fi Ki Fò

Strong Girl

Kreyol for “Strong Girl,” the Fi Ki Fò after-school program provides girls ages 8 - 18 years old the opportunity to participate in social/emotional workshops on self -esteem building, self-advocacy, and healthy communication. They also participate in skills-based workshops on public speaking, financial planning, computer literacy, and more – all led by Haitian women at Contre le Reconfort Haiti.

Curriculum

The Fi Ki Fò curriculum is designed to provide girls with age-appropriate lessons that adjust to their life stages as they advance through the program:

Under 11 years old

Younger girls engage in traditional games and art projects. They are guided with age-appropriate conversations and educational support to tackle their school work and emotional counseling.

11-17 years old

Preteen and teen girls focus on social-emotional learning, confidence building practices, and emotional counseling. They learn how to speak up and be an advocate for themselves and others, and learn lessons on how to care for themselves physically and emotionally as they grow into young women.

17+ years old

Older teens participate in workshops and discussions to prepare them for life after graduation. We aim to equip them with tools to support themselves once they leave Reconfort’s campus, including information on women's rights, research and communication techniques, and current events, as well as emotional counseling. They also get primers on practical skills, like financial literacy and driving basics.
