Corinne Paul (she/her)

Senior Policy Advisor for Civil and Political Rights, AJWS

Corinne Paul is the Senior Policy Advisor for Civil and Political Rights at American Jewish World Service. In this role she leads advocacy with the US government regarding human rights in Haiti and other countries around the world. She comes to AJWS from CARE, an international non-governmental organization, where she helped improve support for health workers and increase women’s health access internationally. Previously, she was a foreign policy legislative aide in the U.S. Senate. Prior that, she worked for a nonprofit organization in Les Cayes, Haiti, where she was first introduced to Write to Be. Corinne earned her Master of Public Policy with a specialization in international development policy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Politics with minors in International Development and U.S. Latina/o Studies from the University of Maryland. Corinne is also a certified yoga instructor and enjoys reading, nature, exercising, and spending time with her cat, Minwi (“Midnight” in Haitian Creole).

 

Stafford D. Oliver (he/him)

Program Specialist, Institute of International Education

Stafford has held roles in international education across Europe, North America, and South Asia. Currently he works at the Institute of International Education (IIE), in which he has collaborated on educational initiatives throughout the United States and Saudi Arabia, China, Turkey and Iran. As an undergraduate, Stafford was awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholar to study at SOAS, University of London. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and a Master of Science from The University of Edinburgh. In his free time he loves to travel, cycle and garden.

 

Kelsey Ullom (She/Her)

Kelsey is an international educator focused on creating cross-cultural learning opportunities for young people. At Rice University, she builds university-community partnerships to support international programming rooted in social justice. Prior to Rice, Kelsey facilitated service-learning programs in Haiti and administered U.S. Department of State study abroad programs at the Institute of International Education. Kelsey holds a B.A. in International Studies from Ohio Wesleyan University and a M.S.Ed. in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Emma Sparks (she/her)

Emma Sparks holds a BA in Early Childhood Education from Ohio Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Rutgers University. With a passion for grassroots community work, Emma has spent years working in non-profit organizations and teaching in New Jersey. From 2016-2018, Emma lived in Haiti, where she had the privilege of teaching English for the Fi Ki Fò program. Now residing in NJ with her sister and two cats, Olive and Gibby, Emma enjoys hiking, reading, skateboarding, singing, and creating art in her free time.

 

Pascale Leblanc (she/her)

Special Education Team Lead, University of Chicago Charter School - Woodlawn Campus

Pascale has worked in the field of education for over 10 years and strives to improve the quality of education available to all children. Focusing her work in underserved and under-resourced communities of color, she takes great pride in helping students with specific learning disabilities, and other exceptionalities, realize their full potential. Prior to working in the K-12 school setting, she was a Project Manager at the American College of Surgeons where she oversaw the development, revision, and execution of various programs in their trauma education department. Her work with international educators inspired her to pursue a career in education abroad. In 2016 she moved to France to serve as a teaching assistant under the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Following her two years abroad, she joined Teach for America and returned to her hometown of Chicago, Il, to teach in the very community that raised her. Pascale’s passion for serving others and working with international audiences was inspired by her Haitian parents who consistently emphasized the importance of education, philanthropy, and taking pride in one’s cultural identity. Pascale holds a B.A. in Communication, an M.A. in Teaching, and is currently pursuing a 2nd M.A. in International Education and Leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

 

Djenie Danjoint (She/her/hers)

Sr. Health Specialist, Chemonics International 

Djenie was born and raised in Les Cayes, Haiti, and moved to the US at the tender age of 11! Djenie holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Health from Saint Louis University and a proud return Peace Corps Volunteer – Morocco. Djenie is a Project Management and Global Public Health professional with 10+ years of relevant experience working in community health programs, human resources for health and capacity building in malaria programs, and project management across Francophone Africa and Haiti. Ms. Danjoint serves as a Sr. Health Specialist for Chemonics’ Health Practice within the Global Health Division. Currently, she supports and leads Health Practice efforts to engage externally through thought leadership, industry participation, and publications, and internally through capacity-strengthening, mentorship, and business development.  Djenie enjoys traveling,  hiking, exploring different cuisines, and spending time with friends and family!
