Starting with an idea born one sunny afternoon in D.C.’s Meridian Hill park, Write to Be has grown from a simple cross-cultural exchange of letters to a network of sisterhood. Today, we connect 40 individuals through mentorship and our Fi Ki Fò program provides skills training for over 19 Haitian young women. Thanks to your support, Lorencia can sew her own dress, Rebecca can articulate why women are qualified to be president, Elizabeth can prepare a meal, and Nancy can explain to you in English what she did during the week.

Apart from the achievements of our program participants, one of our exciting accomplishments was the implementation of our first formal Fi Ki Fò program evaluation. Current Board of Directors Vice President Rachel Vinciguerra, MSW/MID, spent 2017 evaluating our work by facilitating focus groups, conducting surveys, and creating a report on the positive impact and needs for improvement within our program.

We are excited to share the results with you and pledge our commitment to improvement as we grow.
